2020 Graduate Essay Prize for Excellence in Scholarship in Sociology
Entries are now open for the 2020 SAANZ Graduate Essay Prize for Excellence in Sociology. The award will be presented to the author(s) of a submitted paper that is considered by the judging panel to best represent post graduate scholarship in the discipline. The winning essay will be announced in December. The award consists of a citation from the Association, $500 and possible referral of the paper to New Zealand Sociology for consideration for publication. (While the awarding of the prize is traditionally associated with the Association’s annual conference, the 2020 conference has been postponed due to Covid-19.)

To be eligible to enter you must be:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree at a New Zealand tertiary institution at the time of writing the paper
- Enrolled in sociology or a related discipline where you are considered to be using a sociological perspective
- A current member of SAANZ (join here)
