Nominations are now open for the 2025 SAANZ Exceptional Service Award.
The Exceptional Service award will be presented to a sociologist who is considered by the Executive to have provided an outstanding contribution to the advancement of sociology in Aotearoa New Zealand. Such contribution may include:
- A significant body of scholarship;
- Leadership or peer support of the sociology community;
- Exceptional teaching, pastoral care and/or student-support;
- Contributions to public analysis and debate; and/or
- Working with communities to enhance the wellbeing of Aotearoa.
The winner of the award will be announced during the annual SAANZ Conference. There is an expectation, but not a requirement, that the nominee will be present to receive the reward. The prize for the winner of the award is a citation from SAANZ.
